Greens

Today we woke up to rain. It didn’t hamper our work too much, though. We took care of the chickens, changed out of our wet jeans, and went back out to the greenhouse to harvest greens, AVG’s big sale crop.

The greens keep growing back after each harvest. I’m not sure how long they’ve been harvesting these plants, but they had last been harvested one week ago, and we got 10 pounds today. This is from about four beds of the size you see here.

Then we wash the greens two times. I didn’t get a picture of Joel doing this very chilly-handed job.

Next, it’s into the spinner:

Also today we went to the dump, and I made sourdough pasta for the first time. I’ll have to post pictures the next time.
